Always Technology

I'm sorry to announce that Always Technology Corporation is no longer in business. However, all is not lost because Bason Computer, Inc. has bought the rights to use the Always trademark. Bason had hired yours truely to support those customers who had purchased Always brand controller cards in the past. What does this mean? It means that Always Technology Corporation no longer exists, but you still can get support for, and purchase some, Always(TM) brand products from Bason Computer, Inc.

First, some bad news. Bason will no longer give you the time of day regarding Always cards, so don't even bother calling them for ANY type of support what-so-ever.  Thanks to Steve Scott for this tidbit info. No major loss anyhow as their idea of support really sucked.

Second, some good news. Everything I knew about Always Technology host adapter cards is listed on these pages.

Utility Diskettes

These diskettes contain the newest drivers and the installation manual written/edited by me. Windows 95 drivers, if available for the host adapter in question, are included with the operating system.

Various drivers

Below is the driver for the AL-500 host adapter. This is ALL I have for the AL-500, so don't ask for anything else. There is no Windows 95 nor Windows NT support for this card, and probably never will be. It's up to you to find the necessary secondary support drivers (CD-ROM, MO, etc). {HINT: Any ASPI-compliant secondary driver should work with this manager, including the ASPICD.SYS from the IN-2000/7000 distribution above.....}

AL-500 ASPI manager (4KB)
Possible driver set for the AL-500 UNTESTED (150KB)

BIOS Code

You had better know what you are doing if you plan to use these files. BIOS EPROM chips are 256 (or 512) KiloBit AMD-compatible, 150nS or faster.

VCN: 887-01.3 - Current IN-2000 BIOS (19Kb)

Quick Installation Guides

The following links are EXACT REPLICAS (well as exact as I can do with HTML) of the "Quick Installation Guides" that shipped with the below adapters. How do you know they are accurate? Because _I_ wrote the originals and still have them! ;) I hope yall find them extremely useful because I had to re-type and re-design them from scratch because they were originally written in IBMWorks for OS/2 format.
